As I write this, I can see and hear the activity that goes on just before a major performance.
I hear a section of musicians running up and down the scales like a seasoned runner, while others flow effortlessly like ballerinas in spring. Then I hear the “tap, tap, tap” of the conductor’s baton, beckoning the instruments into position. I see the stage crew with headsets and half-dressed actors scurrying behind the curtains, while the audience chatters with excitement in anticipation of dimming lights. Then I hear the faint sound of the triangle bell, signalling the start of the performance.
For those of you who have been called “the creative”, I write words of encouragement; for I see the Holy Spirit raise up the baton to beckon you into position. You, the instrument, yielded to the hands of the Most Skillful Musician, have been fine-tuned and prepared to perform in concert – not solo. You have been designed to play best with other yielded instruments that have been carefully tucked away until the most important performance of all: the Concert of the Century.
I write to encourage you to get in position, for the hour to perform is here. You may have felt that your gifts have been forgotten or that your sound is not worth hearing because it is not stamped with a major label. Get your last bit of tuning out of your system. Run through the scales as much as you need. But it is time for the sound that God has placed within you to be released into the earth. It is time for you to join with the finest of instruments to play, to perfection, the most beautiful song that has rarely been heard…..UNITY.
It is time for all of the creative wonders of the world to celebrate one another, to encourage one another, to work with one another. It is time for us to play, in concert, until a million instruments sound like one. It doesn’t matter if you’ve never yielded yourself before or if you feel that you must dust yourself off before you can be heard. It doesn’t matter if you consider yourself to be a classical instrument or something made by hand from random pieces of useless material. All that matters is that you yield yourself in this season to the hand of the Master Musician and allow His breath to flow through you to draw out the most beautiful sound that has rarely been heard. Then His breath will flow through the entire orchestra of yielded instruments as the audience encounters a sound so pure, so full of life and love
“Tap, tap, tap.”
Love this! This so helped me just now to focus my attention. I felt in the last few weeks as the performer who is back stage getting ready and the sound check is not right, the musicians are running late and I had allowed all of these distractions to overwhelm and frustrate me to the point that I lock myself in the dressing room and refuse to leave.!
I can hear the tap…tap…tap
I open my door say my prayer and take my position, with the orchestra!
Thank you Triangle
WOWOWOW!! That was powerful!!
Now that you’re on stage, I hope you throw away the key to your dressing room and perform like crazy.
You’ve encouraged me to throw away my own key!
I love this Too! I also have heard Tap…tap…tap! Thank you for have an attentive ear and being a ready pin in HIS hand! His Awesomeness and Our Blessing!
